With the wonderful rains we’ve gotten we’ve also gotten lots of flowers! The Carrizo Plains superbloom was beautiful. Not as magnificent as two years ago but still amazing. Southern California had the poppy superblooms this year. People from around the world came, just as they did two years ago. Some foolish people piloted a helicopter and landed in the middle of blooms on the Carrizo Plains 🤨 Big no no and a big fine. People got so crazy in Southern California that they actually closed the exits for a day so no one could get in. As nuts as this all is, that’s how beautiful it all is. Warms the heart, right or wrong, to see people appreciating Mother Nature.
On that note, these poppies are so vivid that it’s actually difficult for me to photograph them in full sun as my camera freaks out because the Orange reads too hot. I had fog rolling in and out so I got lucky getting this shot. I can only hope I did it some justice. I hope it makes you smile 😊
Year 7 on this adventure! I’m especially appreciative of the community found here! I am inspired by everyone; learning from so many. Your shares make...
So beautifully composed and I really like the DOF effect you have achieved by using the long focus lens. That is so interesting to me as I almost always choose a macro lens to shoot flowers. Fav
Ahhh, it would be hard to ignore the beauty of these blooms up the Central Coast! When a had a photo full of them, I knew it was time to return here! I agree with the information you shared about photographing them...not always as obviously-easy as it looks!
@lostphojo thank you for the thoughtful comments and fav! Yes, I don’t always use the macro and lately, rarely do. Something for me to think about and start using again!
