Gnarled & Long Dead

tree trunk on the Harmony Headlands trail - this trail is so cool going through so many micro climates in a short span.

Happy Friday Eve!!!

My vote is for the B&W version.. Both are great, but I feel that dropping the colors really accentuates what makes this shot amazing... the light and log!

I'm having trouble choosing which one I think displays this amazing trunk - both are such stunners!

This seems to show the textures of the trunk and branches a little more. Both are nicely done.

@teriyakih @kipper1951 I opted for the BnW in hopes of highlighting this crazy cool trunk and then @koalagardens I tried a little sepia and it just kind of captured a little bit of how you can get lost in time on some parts (probably every part) of the trail) so then I couldn’t not share it! @homeschoolmom thank you all for your views and input. I appreciate reading them and be incentivized 🤓
It’s such a neat place and with that fog this time... so cool. We have tourists that one told me, they come to at least do the trail once a season since it’s so changing. I hope you got to check out the link.

First I thought sepia, then b&w, the sepia again, it is not easy to choose. It think the b&w shows the trunk detail more, it is more catching.

This is a fabulous b&w!!! Reminds me of Ansel Adams. My fav of the 2.

Wonderfully atmospheric shot. The B&W is terrific and love the caption.
