Every now and then one of these - not sure if it's a Coopers Hawk or Sharp Shinned Hawk... would come in to the yard, hoping to "grab a quick meal". Haven't seen one of these in the yard since we had a tree removed - I guess they can't hide from the song birds now so their meals are able to fly away - thankfully.
Year 7 on this adventure! I’m especially appreciative of the community found here! I am inspired by everyone; learning from so many. Your shares make...
@santina Thank you! I'm with you! Since we've moved a mile from our old place, I no longer get the great horned owls - they were my favorite and I miss them - they'd land on the fireplace and their whooting would echo throughout the house!
@aikiuser Thanks Jenn - he was looking pretty comfortable there. Ha ha - its like when I was excited only to realize that GHO at the neighbors is plastic!
@pamknowler@fbailey@koalagardens@ludwigsdiana@jamibann@harbie Thank you! Yes he did look like he was settling in, reading a menu! I'm glad he didn't get anyone from our yard and I am sure he satiated his appetite elsewhere - I understand everyone has to eat but I'd feel terrible to know I was providing lunch for him, with the birdseed I put out.
