Mersey Gateway

...and so, the adventure begins.

Crossing the River Mersey at Runcorn for an overnight stop at Chester. This is just the first part of the gallop down to Dover, but there are one or two folks to see on the way down.
that sounds like an amazing adventure - Chester is on my bucket list of places to visit.

I hope you've paid the Toll, Graham, otherwise the Highway Robbers will have penalty charge notices flying at you, faster than you can say RIP OFF !!
Haha, even if you pay that doesn't mean you still won't get a penalty charge notice. At times their systems appear to be a total shambles.
The local press regularly carry the latest horror story.

This licence to print money divides the two halves of our town, no where else in the country, is the only way from one side of a town to the other is a tolled crossing. It is costing regular commuters and some residents over a thousand pounds a year !
Due to work commitments I have to cross this sometimes twenty times a day. Previously the old bridge ( now closed ), was free !
