Plans to install a zip-wire ride across Honister Pass have been shelved as the equipment fails to pass inspection!
I can't believe it failed inspection LOL

Honister has been a slate source since Roman times, but moving the product has always been a challenge. Several projects were attempted including tunneling through Fleetwith Pike. The final solution came in 1883 with this cable assisted railway. So, after 137 years, this is probably fair wear and tear!
