Main Library, Baton Rouge by eudora

Main Library, Baton Rouge

Over 20 years ago (could it have been that long??) I worked at the main library. It was old, dark and shabby and had rats and mildew, but it was supposedly one of the busiest libraries in the country. Several years ago the old building was replaced by this wonderful new one, filled with light and great services such as a genealogy research room and a job center to help people with resumes and applications. While taking this photo, I bumped into a former coworker. She said the new building still has rats. Oh well.
Love the architecture. Would love to spend some time there!

Quite "the" building. very modern architecture, so different from the one you worked at over 20 years ago.

I love this building! I’m a librarian in a school with no windows, but I guess I’ll take that over the rats!
