Entrance to Drop Redoubt, Dover

The Drop Redoubt fortress was built between 1804 and 1815. It is situated in a prime location on the Western Heights hills and provided barracks for 200 men and housing for twelve 24-pounder guns. The surrounding ditches vary from 29ft to 49ft in depth, and were faced with brick.
How interesting - to learn and to see just one of the solid looking doors!

I love old doors and associated door furniture. It would be pretty hard to get through there

Looks like it would be difficult to get through that door uninvited. Great detail in this old door.
