Had a super day in London with the kids yesterday - though it was a disaster on the camera front... Got to the sea life centre by the Thames and watched this lovely seahorse nuzzling the reeds, bent to take a first trial photo and the camera battery died. AAAAAAAAgh frustration.
I just love seahorses, seems to be that they belong to an earlier world of fairy-like gentleness - watching them bob around, curling their tails is magical, the kids had to tear me away.
Outside the sky was amazing, parliament was lit, the London Eye was full of lovey-doveys (they wouldn't let us on with our annual passes) and even highlighted red... and I could only look at it and smile at the number of folk carrying red roses in cellophane.
This dear folk, is my only shot - an over-exposed slightly blurred seahorse. I shall learn to check the battery before I set off next time....!
In the meantime I was so chuffed that so many of you had a look at my ninja squirrel shot - thank you for all your lovely comments, you really are marvellous!
I remember being spellbound by seahorses in the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham - they had a large circular magnifying lens built into the front of their tank so you could see them better. They are surprisingly small! Blurry or not, this is a special memory of a day with your kids (shame about the camera battery though ...)
I think we've all been there with the dying battery at the wrong moment! Still a lovely shot you managed to get. seahorses are incredible! Hope you soaked up all those pictures to keep inside you :-)
