Alphabet-hunt challenge is nearly over: don't worry about leaving a comment but thank you for stopping by!
V is for Vino and Veritas, (which I like), Voodoo and Viruses (which I try to stay away from!), for Viburnum and Violas. It's for my cousin Viktor and my Very dear late, Great Auntie Vie (Violet) who was always such a sweetie.
It's also for Victoria - who I believe to be England's longest-reigning monarch and the world's longest-reigning queen to date. In the church is a brass plaque, placed by the local WI to commemorate her Golden Jubilee in 1887 - "Victoria, Queen and Empress." Our WI put a similar plaque for Elizabeth II when she celebrated her golden jubilee 10 years ago, it isn't as polished as this one, and doesn't have enamel to crack as this one does, but still I like the character of both and how history is being shaped even in my generation.
(As the church is a listed ancient building one has to get permission from the Diocese to put anything onto the walls... and once there it cannot ever be removed!)
Unbelieveable how many luvly comments were left by U on my U shot yesturday. Thank U thank U! :)
