Tendrils

Oh dear... I was inspired by Margaret Pengelly's sparkly wet feather shot so sprayed this month's trusty 'same' item vigorously with water - and it sort of slumped and clumped and will never be the same again!! This is a very tight crop of a small section which caught my eye as being slightly less than a disaster!
Well Bedfordshire had a nearly nice day today but GB has floods and heavy rain - no wonder the feather copped it too! Thank you so much for your kind words on my drizzly miserable shot yesterday - I noted many comments about our lovely letterbox and gave it a tiny boost which rather made it look like it had just landed there Doctor-Who-style, so I tuned it back down a little! Keep safe and dry everyone :)
@ubobohobo... this isn't remotely as lovely as your feather but I thought it might amuse you! :)

Brilliant pic! I love how the ends look soft and natural but the closer parts of the feather look very man-made! :)

Sometimes experiments turn out much differently than we expect. I think the tight cropping made for a great shot- and if you hadn't said anything about what you originally intended to do, I would have thought this shot was supposed to be this way. Excellent detail and such a nice pattern made by the wet pieces of feather. Great in b/w too.
