Crystal-Crusted Tulips by filsie65

Crystal-Crusted Tulips

Winter fights back but perhaps there are signs that spring is coming regardless? Has anyone else found it ironic that British Summer Time starts in 2 weeks and yet spring hasn't started yet?!

You guys are just wonderful - so chuffed by your comments views and even faves on my moony windmill shot yesterday. It was a lovely view by the seaside after a horribly long drive, I'm pleased to have captured it and now shared it with you. TGIFT!! Have an easy one :)
#PS Would it be a sin or a good idea to turn this B&W?!
~PPS Some of you thought it was a sin but I was intrigued enough to have a go anyway (forgive me) and this is the result https://365project.org/filsie65/365/2019-03-14
Great close up. We started our Daylight Saving Time last weekend, so we are even ahead of you. It is strange, isn't it?

It is really almost Summer for you?
I sure hope this means tulip pictures soon - for all of us. Lovely icing catch on these.

Don't make it B&W!!! I love seeing the green :o) The frosty tips are gorgeous. I saw the frost this am. and had every intention to get out there but was too late :o( I'm in absolute agreement with you TGIFT, not a day too soon xx

I think we are all so fed up with the bad weather that we are impatient for spring to arrive. The spring equinox, which marks the beginning of spring is on the 20th March this year. Hope the weather catches up by then! Your poor frosted tulips look really chilled.

Daylight savings time started in the US last weekend. They are predicting possible snow here for this weekend. I am so ready for spring.

Nicely done frosty shot.

The plants are coming up, spring must be there! Love your frosty shot!

Beautiful frost capture :) I like the green-white contrast in this - not sure if it would have the same punch in B&W

Had to come by your album after witnessing your sense of humor in comments on Jason's page. Love your perspective.

Nice picture, and I wish they'd just leave the clocks alone.

Great shot Phil.

I like your green layers on this, did you try a b&w? Would you not lose some of the frostling detail? This is just whispery wonderful

I am not a fan of B&W.....and it looks brilliant just the way it is!

looks like spring is trying to show up despite your cold weather. We are having very warm weather here! Humm..... thought it was still winter

same height as our tulips in istanbul.. we are a few meridian closer to the equator.. but spring is stuggling for not arriving.. two days we had sun. then tonight it snowed..

Beautiful - love the crystals!!

Very pretty! I don't know about the b/w. The green helps to make the white "crystals" look really white. That might get lost in b/w. But the lovely thing about digital is that you can experiment in your processing program and never lose the original!

Lovely shot! I like how the frost traces the edges. I am wondering what the heck happened to spring myself. I think we had it last week for all of three days! You captured this one very nicely. The detail is perfect. Well done, Phil! ... I am going to finish commenting tomorrow if you don't mind... It's 2:30 EST/6:30 BST and I got very little sleep because I was up for an early Liverpool match! I'm beat! Sit tight. Comments will resume when my head will stop drooping and my typing straightens out so I don't have to keep backspacing to fix mistakes! lol

Very pretty frost on the green, might look good in b&w, but I think this is made for colour (shocking!). I think the nice green background will be lost in b&w, but why not try it out. Try using different colour filters for the conversion and see how it affects the outcome.

Just beautifully caught...love it!

The light and color are just wonderful. Fabulous capture
And tho I am a huge fan of b&w, I prefer this in color. It IS the color that makes the strong statement
