This sweet little memorial is in a little village which I pass on the way to George's new school. It is beautifully tended, and oddly placed on a sort of cross-roads junction with traffic feet away all day. The poppy tributes & crosses on the ground would have been placed there on 11.11.12.
How awful that during the 'world war' people were indeed fighting and dying all over the world, in all seasons but the same misery I'm sure. Rather than post a shot of our village's memorial again I looked around, and realised that every village around here has its own little memorial, with the names of its own dead, there is even a plaque in church for the boys of a local school who lost their lives in the wars. It really did touch everyone.
Honouring Anzac day and all those of all nationalities who are remembered - and praying that it never happens again.
Wonderful shot, Phil... Great photo for a day of remembrance and memorial. What a tragic past this world shares. You'd think the violence would stop. Great job, Phil. We Will Never Forget.
