One and a Million by filsie65

One and a Million

One of the problems, eh, challenges of doing a 2nd year is when you see a lovely sight (like this Canola field in the sunshine) and think 'but I did that last year'.... you try to think of an alternative way of snapping it rather than just replicating it. Well this year I decided to do a diptych but it didn't work as I had planned so here's a collage instead!
Proof if it were ever needed that there can be strength in numbers - or perhaps that every one matters :)
Still playing catch-up with my snaps and seeing your glorious shots - woke up late after a wonderfully boozy night with my neighbour and now have a mostly kid-free weekend with lots of jobs to do but the joy of 365ing uninterrupted! Marvellous!!
Thank you for calling by to see the silvery drops on my cd...you're all wonderfully kind and I hope you are having a fabulous weekend whatever mischief you're up to. Mwah!
Lovely shot.

Smashing shot and idea Phil, You've done well to find some, the crops have all been ruined by the weather 60 miles north in our neck of the woods.

Lovely clean and bright :)

pretty. But we call it Canola. Less subjective I guess?

I'm loving the goldn sunshinyness of this - I love the little inset too - a little piece of elegant uniqueness!

Nice close up as an explanatory extra shot.

@bobfoto Wish we called it Canola here.... I hate the name always feels so unnecessarily uncomfortable! I'll start renaming it and see if it catches on.... :)

@filsie65 - needs to start somewhere.

Great composition colours Phil.

I like the way you've done the close up as an inset. I do remember last year's shot, but think there are some things which bear repeating annually or more frequently and like Jason, I think I called it Canola last year ....

I prefer the Canola name too, wish they would rename it. Beautiful shot, first one I have seen yet. Love those yellow fields, great shot!

What a terrific idea, Phil! I love the word boozy, sounds so much more more fun. I'm on board with canola too.

Nicely done as a collage. Great colors.

That's a beautiful field of Canola, what is it called there?
May 12th, 2013
@bella_ss Its rather unpleasantly called 'Rape' seed, so it's a rape field. I'm following Jason's suggestion of starting a national trend to call it canola....

Stunningly bright colours. I don't think it matters if you replicate shots. Well I've done it for well over two years now! xx

Very pretty!!
May 12th, 2013
@filsie65 I can see why you would prefer Canola!

What a lovely scene! The colors really pop both the flowers and the sky! I love how you have the inset showing the detail in the flower. Great job, Phil! :) Yeah....fav!

Perfect! Love the saturated color. And the little inset is a nice touch.

Really cool, love the one and then the million others

Great shot Phil. In Norway they are called "raps"... perhaps as in rhapsody ;-) It is one of the things I would love to see in real life.
