I had a gap to fill in August and was thinking deep thoughts about my project.. so this one, taken in Scotland sheltering from showers in the campervan, contented and thoughtful, seemed to fit the bill.
I used to have time to go down my 'feed', opening shots and commenting every day then reciprocating on comments I received, and recently have barely had time to do the latter. I am missing out on so many folk I have followed for 2 years, and haven't realised that I haven't been 'following' a lot of good people on whose photos I have been commenting regularly.
September is always such chaos so here's what I've decided to do - my 365 friend Aurorajane did a rainbow month asking for no comments... I'm going to do the same and just enjoy your shots and hope the lack of pressure and your inspiration will see me springing back in October. Hope that makes sense.. and thank you all for being such pals.
Thank you for all your kind wishes and all your sweet comments on my York/duck/birthday shots - I hope to be able to comment on all your posts and enjoy them at my leisure! x
I nearly gave up on 365 a couple of months ago as it was taking up too much of my time (and I am retired!) The important thing is to enjoy your photography. Look forward to you getting back to full speed in October
What a great selfie! Very pensive look in your eyes! Have a rest in September and hopefully October will be less stressful! I am retired and find it hard to keep up with everyone's shots. I was becoming obsessed with making sure I had commented on everything but it's impossible! I have stopped stressing about it and catch up as and when I can. As long as you are enjoying your photography then that's the most important thing! You have to be careful 365 doesn't take over your life!
Lovely selfie, you do look fully absorbed in your thoughts. I agree with all of the above. I am also retired and am fretting about not being able to keep up with comments. I really love and appreciate all who follow me, more than realised, however I forgive in a thousand ways to those like me who can't keep up. I am just sitting back and loving all your photos. Quite happy with that
Even when asking for no comments people will comment (see I am commenting) ;0) please do not put pressure on yourself, I always think post first and the if you get chance comment, no pressure from me to comment on mine, just enjoy cx
A rainbow month.....never heard this expression...but I understand the concept...being awol for two months myself! However, I did miss the 365 connection comments...and the viewing photos of all the talented photographers on 365...having said that....enjoy your break from the sidelines but do come back!
Love this shot :o) I know what you mean about the commenting. It takes me forever and I really should be revising :oS Take a month out and I'll still be here when you're ready to start commenting again. I'm not sure I'll be able to resist though :oP xx
What a nice shot, Phil! You truly are beautiful. You have very lovely eyes. I hope things calm down for you. I will miss your comments but you do what you need to do for YOU. Sending hugs across the pond.
@seanoneill Hi Sean! I rather felt that I was taking so much time (happily) reciprocating comments that I wasn't looking at my 'feed' any more and missing out on so many folk I have been following for ages (like you!) So I added the folk I'd been reciprocating to my follower list and now I hope I can go down the feed and enjoy :) Besides, most of the rainbow month will be boring (and simple for me which this month is so valuable!!) so it saves folk having to be ingenious!! =)
If I stop commenting on your shots, I will get off my 365 rhythm! So, don't worry about commenting on mine, I'll just keep commenting on yours! I do understand about the time factor. I find myself in a similar boat and have told new followers that unless they comment on my shots, I'll probably not see theirs because that's all I have time for now! So, don't worry about me!
