Decided to make a little diptych of 2 (sooc) zoomed shots from my 'technical' get-pushed challenge. I had to do a long exposure while zooming... the trickiest bit was keeping the camera still while moving part of it (the lens). These are the best of a bad lot I did with some festive lights on the doorstep last night. The first is a longer zoom, the second only a slight zoom hence the concentration of light at the end of the 'beams'. Hoping to have another go tonight, but not sure I'm up to wedging the tripod between my knees and balancing the shutter button / lens between my hands and getting a cold bum in town like wot I did at home last night!!
Your comments on my little offerings have brightened a dull weekend - thank you so much for simply calling by. Have a super Sunday x
@roseolivia Hoping to do something more colourful later... if hypothermia doesn't set in first! Thanks for the challenge, it was fun! I have another zoom lens which goes in and out like a trombone, rather than having to twist it (if you see what I mean) - I think this would be easier to do with that but it's gone awol... I'll keep looking :)
Good celebration of Dr Who. Can hear the music and your descriptive words made me laugh. I think a cable release may help. Not sure about the cold bum!!!!
I Phil. You've got some beautiful photos in your project and I'm very impressed you are into year three. I wondered about a get pushed challenge to take a photo with forced perspective. How would that work for you?
I think it looks really cool and you have done very well, I think it is technique that seems simple yet is hard to master and I can't comment on it as, even though i issued the challenge, I am yet to try it! Maybe try it again when the days get warmer, wouldn't want you to catch a cold! Or try with the xmas tree indoors when it is up :-)
Fascinating. I rather like the fact that there is some motion in the light trails where you didn't quite manage to keep the camera still. It looks like you are going into warp speed in Star Wars!
