Village Triptych by filsie65

Village Triptych

Lovely to sit and 'play' this morning in my pjs with a cup of tea! My get-pushed challenge from Harry J Benson was to create 'a triptych of something historic in your area and since it will be historic the presentation can be b&w or sepia to give the vintage feel'. Well I've never done a triptych before, and had a bit of a play to try and get the three to complement one another but it was a great way to wake up! At the top we have my friends' thatched cottage, then the church, then underneath a shot of the children dancing around the may pole on May Day. It really is a pretty village and it's been lovely living here. Thanks for the challenge Harry - and thanks everyone for calling by :)
@hjbenson Hope this meets with your approval! Thank you for the challenge, you spotted correctly it's indeed an old village - some of the buildings date back over 600 years...! Have a great weekend :)

Great shots. I love seeing the maypole dancing. I used to do that on May Day in the village I lived in.

Lovely - such a strong feel of an English village, particularly the maypole shot

Perfect shots and perfect processing. They could have been discovered in a maiden aunt's attic they look so old xx

Beautiful pics, and perfect processing! They look genuinely antique :)

They really do need to be viewed large to appreciate! The thatched roof cottage is sooo English and quaint, I adore the A-Line construction and the chimney in the foreground is also neat - so much character! But of course the image that caught my eye was the one of the children and the maypole - what a moment of time and what a fun, creative and just lovely tradition, you did a great job, thanks for sharing :)
