F is for fallen fir filling Friday

Finally got a chance to stop and get a shot of this rather striking once majestic fir which sadly, as you can see, lost a section recently, presumably in the storms. I made the shot sepia then B&W which I think has given it an aged feel. Or maybe it's just the wine and fatigue..!
Thanks for dropping in and for all your support :)
Wow! Amazing shot.

It looks very similar to some of the trees around here after Irene hit. Good shot.

Great shot, Phil! It looks so sad that it's broken and nobody has bothered to clear up the damage. It sure tells how bad the storms have been! Well done :)

Lovely composition, such a shame the tree is damaged.

@prttblues Actually, I couldn't see any sign of the fallen bough so I think they have cleared it from the field, guess they are just leaving nature to take care of the tree itself. Always amazes me how trees somehow manage to grow so that they are balanced, despite damage, pruning etc.

Nice shot, the effect works well... even if it just miiiiiight have been wine induced! ;o)

Gives the effect of a violent wind storm. Nicely spotted.

@filsie65 Trees can be very resilient. We have some completely bent over, yet they thrive in the spring with green.
