After years in a village where I taught at the local school, I wasn't sure what to expect in my little rented house in Birmingham this year. Nevertheless I did my pumpkins and was really pleased to have several groups of scary-looking children giggling at my door and bravely putting their hands into my cauldron for treats. I didn't dress up this year just in case...!
