Forgive a moment's self-indulgence. You see, they had used them in an earlier lesson but I asked them not to play with them during French, or I would have to take them home and play with them myself. Charlie grinned and said 'No you wouldn't'. ..........! :)
@woot Legitimately, I have no idea. I have never seen anyone actually clean a pipe (for smoking) ever. I think the kids just make shapes with them... so do the grown-ups in some cases... :)
ahah I see. But is it popular among kids or is just some particular kid who happened to have this? (sorry for the million questions, but it got my attention, with no particular reason)
@woot I think the teacher had given them out in science, and some of them were still playing with them - one girl was decorating her hairband with it, another was wrapping it around his crayon, etc. I think some of them just like to fiddle. A lot. But they were a distraction so I removed them. And played with them myself!! :)
I didn't know they were still available, excellent reflection and quirky subject. Many years ago I used them to clean the tar out of the stem of my pipe about once per day.
what fun! I am pretty sure i have some pipecleaners in my craft box.
My grandfather smoked a pipe when I was young and I am pretty sure I saw him clean it with pipe cleaners
