.. or perhaps just a basket.
This is the first time I ever asked a complete stranger if I could take his photo so I thought it worthy of posting. Check out those sideburns! Took this at a Woodworks day locally, lots of natural interests and activities, lots of lovely wood! This character was sitting at a Beekeepers stand, which is why I think it might be a skep. He was quite happy for me to take his photo, but I was too shy to hang about so snapped it, thanked him and ran! He spoke with a yokel accent too, I almost expected him to say 'ooh arr'
wonderful shot Phil.really gorgoues light and you really captured his personality i think.the composition with red cloth and baskets around is great too.
Oh I can hear that broad accent. Wonderful portrait given the circumstances I'm like you too shy to take portraits so I can imagine the heart flutter as you took this and fled!
I absolutely adore people with interesting faces/characters. I've got a veteran friend of my dad's coming down this weekend and he has the most amazingly charactered face - so I'll pluck up the courage and ask him if I can take some shots :) Great shot Phil!
What a great shot! You are soooo brave! It takes courage to ask a complete stranger to take their pic (like I did with the cyclist playing that piano!! I almost waited until he left, but was glad I didn't). You captured what he's doing very well. It looks like a candid shot and not a shot that he knows your taking. Very well done! You should do strangers more often!
well done on being brave enough to ask, I'm sure the first time is hardest (I still haven't done it)
