Every year, as soon as these giant poppies come out, you can guarantee bad weather. This year is not exception. Heavy rain this morning and sharp blustery showers this afternoon have left this poor old poppy ready to collapse.
They are such a lovely sight - a bit sad that they are so short lived. I was admiring the poppies in the hedgerows today but goodness knows how many of them will have survived the hail we had this afternoon.
