This Holm oak is around 400 years old and must have seen, and been home to, many things over the centuries. It's very knobbly and has tremendous character, as you would expect. I tried stretching my arms round (in a very non-scientific way) and estimate it would need 8 people to encircle it. Next to it is a tree with a wild honey bee colony and I stood and watched them on their flight path. Lots of birds to listen to and over the last couple of days I've seen quite a few thrushes - nature is fabulous!
