Hard to choose between this and some yellow pond iris. Both were at Soudley Ponds this evening along with a heron. Tried to photograph it but it took off, circled a couple of times and then disappeared behind the trees. Oh well, another time. Can't believe 30 Days Wild is almost over. I've really enjoyed it and learnt a lot so thank you Louise for setting everything rolling.
I'm so glad you enjoyed 30 days wild. I feel like I need 30 days sleeping now - the daily blogging on top of work, life and doing wild things has meant lots of late nights! It's been brilliant though! All I did was share the link - it's everyone taking part that has kept things rolling!
I believe the wildlife trusts are working on something for beyond 30 days wild but I have no idea what it is - not something daily I hope. They have put the hash tag #staywild on the wall chart for the end so I think the idea will be to carry on with our wild adventures beyond June but without the commitment to daily activities. I'm on twitter so keeping up to date! I'll let people know if there are any future ideas or anything.
Brilliant colors in this shot and a great contribution to the wild theme. There's a heron that hangs out in Gull Harbor here, but only shows up if (a) I only have a wide angle lens on OR (b) am not carrying my camera. Same with an ospry that hangs out in a dead tree across from a cell tower!
