It's tidy up day, time to take the decorations down and put them away for another year. Lots of lovely memories made and I feel relaxed and recharged.
It was quite exciting at the river today but unfortunately I was unable to take any photos. The heron was around and then I spotted an eel becoming stranded on the sand as the tide ebbed out. The heron knew it was there too and flew over but just wouldn't land whilst I was watching. Reluctantly I left him to his meal. I'm sure he enjoyed it.
We will be on that task tomorrow afternoon. So glad you end the Christmas season relaxed and recharged. Enjoy the sights outdoors and around - getting the photograph is secondary to taking in the scene with your eyes. (That is what I am trying to learn for myself).
@helenhall I agree Helen and, like you, I'm trying to soak up the moment without a camera in front of me sometimes. We'll have to work on it together. On that note, I didn't run for my camera when a rather magnificent and handsome fox strolled across my front terrace and back, then over the back patio. He didn't even notice me and it was a magical moment I won't forget. Nor the look.of the very spooked pheasant in the orchard - luckily the fox didn't see him either!
It's always interesting to learn new facts here on 365. In Sweden the 20th day after Christmas, Christmas is over, a tradition that we have at least since the 17th century. On that day we dance around the christmas tree and strip it of decorations before throwing it out (a least that is the classical way of doing it). I don't have a tree as my kitten would have torn it apart long time ago.
