Ironton Ferry by flygirl

Ironton Ferry

This ferry crosses Lake Charlevoix several times a day during the summer months. It can car four autos at a time. The ferry has been in operation since the end of the 19th century. The first vessel was pulled by the ferryman by hand. In 1927 the first vessel, a scow, was replaced by this ferry. In 1936 the ferry and it's operator made Ripley's Believe it or not.
