Too many eggs

wishing our chickens would wait until spring to ramp up egg production... but they're not. How many chiffon cakes and angel food cakes and omelets can two people eat???

While the camera often determines shutter speed and aperture for the photographer, it doesn't know your creative intent. This week, challenge yourself to assume creative control over the camera by using full manual mode. Select a subject where varying the aperture and / or shutter speed helps enhance the composition and visual qualities of the image.

I'm not sure that I did any of the above, but I did manage to get a reasonably exposed shot "by myself."

crack em, freeze em and use in the planting holes for next years tomato plants ? a tip i learned this year .... always feast or famine with eggs!

OMG! Francoise. I have the same piggy cutting board. It was my parent's and I remember my dad cutting up meat on it every Sunday for years while I was growing up (and I'm 65 now). How cool!

My problem too....our bench is filled to overflowing with eggs. You certainly have captured the variations in the colours of your eggs. I love this shot.

Sure wish I could help take some off your hands- I love fresh eggs and am missing the Farmer's Market a lot right now! Egg salad, quiche, and any other baking you want to do will also help use them up- and then there's all those beauty tips you're supposed to use eggs for- like shampoo. Oh, I'm sure you'll find some use for them. Good shot!

Well done on the manual control... the eggs are your reward! Do your hens have artificial light at night? (They can be used to increase egg production). Maybe you have some near neighbours ... better to gift them than to eat so many cakes!
