Morning Gift

Shake off your sleep for day is come
Breathe deep the cool fresh air of dawn
Soon enough for troubles glum
For energy to be all gone

But morning now has birthed you new
You’re young again, let go the years
Smell the grasses, touch the dew
Feel the wet behind your ears
