I just realized that the black and white portrait day is tomorrow! So, maybe I will redo this.
What I wrote before I realized: For the black and white portrait day of one week only. This could be in better focus (I think the issue was that I focused on the chair behind me when I was setting the self-timer), but I am not redoing it. Whatever reserve of perfectionism I had when I rose this morning is definitely gone by now.
why so sad? well, the portrait might be just a tad soft, but that's artistry, isn't it. aces!

This is a remarkable selfie! You look so unhappy though! I love it when viewed on black. FAV

I saw this on the pop page and was strongly drawn to it, it's beautifully compelling in its sadness. I thought the softness was intentional, it seems to add to the mood.
The soft focus puts me in mind of Julia Margaret Cameron's work; she discovered soft focus by accident then used it to great effect.
(If you were feeling as sad as this suggests, I hope the feeling soon passed.)

Your self portrait is very melancholic. Well done.

I like this self portrait a lot. It captures a sadness and thoughtfulness.
