Still working on get-pushed challenge, trying to pare down the number of objects included in the still life and have the arrangement be more deliberate, yet still have objects that reflect an aspect of my life. I tried various background, finally just lucked into trying the red cloth and ... at the last minute change the cup. Ok. I may try again, but it will be with a different collection of objects, I think, rather than trying to improve the presentation of this collection.
@francoise Sorry that I didn't reply earlier but you spelt my name incorrectly so the link did not work. This image is much stronger than the previous one, being a more effective Still Life arrangement and not just looking like a random snapshot. I really like the subdued red background. The diagonals of the books and pen work as leading lines taking the viewer into the middle ground. Well done!
