My mother's pewter by francoise

My mother's pewter

This pitcher is used for watering. It belonged to my mother, who loved and collected pewter. All that pewter now lives here in my house, but is mostly boxed up. It's special for obvious reasons, but I think I prize it all the more because it's a practical object that actually gets used on a regular basis (unless I'm neglecting the plants again).
For get pushed challenge from Steve @scarybird to "take a photo indoors. My challenge to you is to take a photo of something that means a lot to you. The subject is entirely up to you but you must be in doors."

My mom loved pewter too. Much of it seemed to disappear when she passed. I think one of my sisters may have adopted it! But that's ok- there were a few things I adopted too. Poor Dad was not the best at taking care of things so we "rescued" the special things quite often! This is a lovely piece- glad it's been put to good use.

Nicely done, Francoise. It's nice to be able to hold on to material things of our loved ones, but even better to use them.

Has a beauty all its own because of the history and practicality. Delightful.

What a stunning still life this makes. And all the more special for its personal history

Wonderful still live. The background looks like an oil painting.
