Trying to photograph these in their setting (challenge to myself is to get the entire plant containing a flower) makes me realize why it's so hard to spot them. You can be right in a big patch and not see a one.

I completely agree, the other thing I find is when you want to take a "carpet" of flowers suddenly there always seems to be lots of empty space.

I think you did well- I like the bokeh/soft focus of the background. You really do see how like look in the overall environment. Lovely shot.

I really love the composition. I can't tell if the flower is in front of a tree stump or tree that has fallen over, but that is lovely nonetheless. Very delicate looking among the harder texture of tree and wood.
