Surprisingly difficult object to photograph. It's so long that I can't really isolate it well in a scene... and my kitchen is cluttered. This is the best of a series of experiments. I think I need new ideas on how to present.
Maybe the iron goes back even another generation. The base it newer. It was welded together by a friend in the 1970's who objected to the concept of lifting the whole thing and turning it over the burner (which was what my mother had done before he made the base). My mother said that when she was a child, her father, who never did ANYTHING in the kitchen, would make the Christmas bricelets.
(happy 62) I think I'm just happy that, after what seems like thousands of attempts, I got a semi-decent result in this shot.
Looks very industrial in this shot. I am impressed that you know how to use it! Most people will hang on to the heirloom but not know what it's for! Good shot!
I'm with Katy - I want to know what those bricelets are!
Haha! We're partners his week! And I know exactly what I want: an unconventional family photo with all of you in it, including you! And tell everyone that I am personally requesting this AND that I said hello and Merry Christmas!!!
