I was thinking that if I took a picture of myself in the mirror of a miniature mirror (the furniture piece is only about 4 inches tall, being 1/12 scale), it would be obvious that a giantess was peering into the mirror. But I'm not sure why it could look normal, maybe something to do with indeterminateness of distance?
I love the idea: If I may, I would try taking the camera off the frame moving it up or down: this would allow you to get closer to the mirror and magnify the difference in size. Besides, an high or low POV would alter the perspective and increase the surreal feel. However, I like it!
I like Domenico's suggestion - get the face closer so it looks bigger and shoot from the side/up/down without looking into the viewfinder. Might be closer to the original idea you had. But it looks intriguing - from the shapes you do get the feeling that this is a miniature cabinet with mini-vases.
