Here was the challenge from Wendy @farmreporter "I think you are a 'recording' type photographer, reacting to your surroundings. So, for the challenge, I want you to be pro-active. I want you to bring some cut flowers into your home, set up a table near a window with the light falling sideways onto the flowers and whatever receptacle you have put them in. Build your still life with a few more objects that are sympathetic to the flowers and take your photograph by natural light with as wide open an aperture as you can manage.
Looking forward to seeing your picture!
Have fun, and I hope you enjoy this challenge. You can make more than one still life if you feel up to it."
@farmreporter Finally had sunshine through window on a Saturday morning. You may have guessed that the fruits (indoors and outdoors) form this past week were also inspired by your challenge. I went out looking for pleasing light. I think that, the focus here might be unintentionally be on the vase rather than the flowers, but since it's the only element other than the dust that qualifies as having built a still-life, well maybe that's ok. I really enjoyed the turn-around of building a picture rather than seeking a picture. Thanks for the challenge.
Oh wow! Really pretty! You nailed it and definitely a FAV!
And, yes - I was wondering about your fruit photos but did not want to say anything. Thought the one with the disappearing fruit so unique with the usual Francoise added touch of whimsy!
I am planning on doing your challenge (more than one picture) tomorrow morning at first light. I work better under pressure - LOL!
Seriously, you may have noticed I have not uploaded many pics this last while. Hubby went into hospital for back surgery and with the hospital being 1 1/2 hours away visiting him eats up a fair bit of my day.
Not planning on leaving until around 10 tomorrow so will snap merrily away before leaving.
Beautiful light and color and the best part of it is the dust on the table. Well, not really the flowers are gorgeous in that light but I love that you left the table as it was. It's like an old masters painting
