When we think of Barnsley we usually think of Barnsley, Yorkshire that was, until quite recently, a dirty place with coal dust everywhere from the nearby pits. On our way back from Devon we passed through the delightful Cotswold village of Barnsley with its lovely cottages in warm Cotwold stone.
