My most important hobby is amateur radio. My “thing“ is trying to speak across the planet with low power voice. Even as long ago as the 1980s I had spoken with people as far away as New Zealand and Antarctica using less than 10W. These days I have been seeing how far I get with 0.5mW which is unbelievably little. Even this has reached the USA. Following a contact people often exchange cards called QSLs to confirm the contact. In my collection are cards from all over the world including the old USSR. In amateur radio we are all equal and politics does not matter.
