Evergreens and Oaks by genealogygenie

Evergreens and Oaks

I was driving in to town to help my mom get out her Christmas decorations and liked the way the sun was shining on this wooded area of rusty oak and green cedar trees growing beside the road.

I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do. ~ Willa Cather, 1913

For evergreen, the December word for today. Snow was predicted, but it just missed us this time. Thanks for stopping by. Your comments are appreciated!

That lovely light really illuminates the soft colours of the trees and brown grasses.

I like the lighting as well -- it gives meaning to the idea of 'earth tones'. Like your processing too.
