I love how helpful my family is in suggesting interesting things to photograph. My mom told me I needed to drive by a local pond and take a picture of the geese. She said every time she drove by they were arranged in a circle around the edge of the ice. But the pond is on the side of a 4-lane highway and wouldn't you know I had a bunch of truckers behind me when I wanted to pull over. So I had to go to the next exit and try again, which is why I think of this as my wild goose chase. These Canadian Geese were just landing and hadn't had time to form their circle yet. Because of the traffic, this was taken through the windshield from the side of the road, but I decided to include it with my project.
Get someone to drop you off and then you try and get closer on foot. I have found that to get "That" shot takes a lot of patience and one has to wait for it! There is an old saying "The closer you get, the better is gets"
