A Wheel bug or assassin bug. A beneficial bug to have in the garden but not to be messed with. They are not aggressive but they will bite if threatened. I’ve read that the bite is worse than a wasp sting and the pain can last for days. Nice shot of this critter!
Is this what we in Texas call a "stink bug?" I haven't seen one in years. I don't remember what they even look like, just remember how badly they smelled. Great macro, Katy.
