Yellow Primrose by grannysue

Yellow Primrose

This is a wildflower that I have been seeing along the sides of the road. I have researched it a bit and believe it to be a variety of Yellow Primrose.
I would like to thank everyone that views and comments on my photos. I appreciate you and appreciate any comments that will help me to improve my photos.
Fantastic colour, good shot.

@dodie Thanks! The little black spot to the left is a bug, if I had seen him when I took the shot, I would have done a pic focusing on him!

It is an oenethera, but I don't know which one. There are over 100 species and they include the "Evening Primrose" that the oil comes from. This looks a more vibrant colour than that though. Really lovely.

@bigsusan55 Susan, thanks! I don't know much about flowers, just that I like them. I enjoy finding them alongside country roads. It gets to be a daring adventure sometimes!

Y don't think I could say anything that would improve on this shot. The focus is so clear and I love the bluey purple background and the bright green of the leaves that set off the yellow flower. It jumps out of the picture at you.

@janek Thank you Jane. I had to cross a road for that shot, take the pic while watching for cars. The wind was blowing and there was no shoulder of the road to stand on, had to be quick.

Well we certainly don't have this wildflower. I love seeing the flowers from around the country and world. Waxy bloom. It's a great photo.

I think we learn a lot on this site. When I photograph a flower that I'm not familiar with I try to do some research too. Beautiful color!

@meeyauw Thank you for your comment. I have enjoyed taking my camera to work with me and looking for photo ops on the way home, it is a great stress reliever. Especially finding wildflowers.
