This is across the parking area from the pond where I have taken Egret, duck and Heron shots. There were a couple of ballfields where Little League's would play ball, they have been bulldozed down. Stands, field, fence, everything gone. Nothing left but the dozer smoothing out the field.
The water fountain has been turned off in the pond, so the pond will no longer be aerated. What the plans are for this park is a mystery to me. Not sure if they are going to rebuild or just close that area.
This was taken a few days ago, no photo ops for me today.
Thank you for viewing and commenting. Thanks to everyone that commented and fav'd my shot from yesterday.
Wow, Linda .. that seems like a lot of things to lose all at once. Not just the whole ballfield ... but also the water fountain and the wildlife. A mystery for sure. But it was a photo op ... and a very interesting one.
@marlboromaam There is still one field that they have not bulldozed. I hope that they are just building bigger and better. They have a newer park a few miles away, but it is always full of adults playing ball.
This is so sad to hear about and see, Linda. I hate changes like this, especially if they are not going to rebuild and not take care of what is there. So sorry for the wildlife that this effects. Happened here and there was a large bird sitting outside a cyclone fence where it no longer could go. Plus feel bad for the kids when they lose a place to play. They turn the the fountains off on occasion at the park I go to feed the ducks, etc and it sure gets mucky fast. The water needs that movement. Maybe one of the workers knows something.
Nice shot. I hope there will be another place for the kids to play ball. (I am a big supporter of Little League Baseball--I think there is lots to be learned, and worry about what they will do with their time)
Another great shot Linda...well lets hope they build something worthwhile. Shame about the pond being turned off, so what happens to the wildlife now?? And all in the name of progress....*big sigh*
@ladyjane@turning_40 Thank you for your comments. The pond was still there that day, but I am afraid it will become stagnant, as it is a relatively small pond. Hoping they will turn the fountain back on. The ducks and geese are still there, but I have not seen the Egret the last two or three times I have been by there.
