8.53 am: We woke up this morning to the first snow of the season. It's not very usual to have snow this early in The Netherlands. It's not even winter yet! Our younger daughter, of course, was completely fascinated by it. Here she is, staring at the snow through the kitchen door.
Later in the day a weather alarm, code orange, was announced. People were advised not to go out on the road or use public transport. Not very reassuring during a late shift that seemded to go on forever, not knowing if we would be able to get home at all. Happily things turned out well in the end with me taking a cab at 1.45 in the morning and arriving safely at home 20 minutes later.
