I hope this isn't close to where you live. Whenever we drive through Raymond Terrace (about 40 km from where I live) the smell is horrendous from the bats in the park there. The bats are across the road from a McDonalds so the combination of burgers and bat poo is terrible as you can imagine, ha ha.
They are huge. Our bats are tiny when folded up. Their wing span is impressive, but folded they are tiny. Also they like to roost under decks and bridges so the only time we really see them are at dusk when they fly out.
