Thanks to my Busch cousins I'm reading "The Art of Photography". The author writes about capturing what you feel when taking the photograph. I've never thought of it that way.
I was feeling the bite of the cold wind. I tried to get the movement of the snow in the freezing gusts.
Also had a lesson through experience. Keep the camera & batteries warm until ready to take the photo. The camera gets contrary when too cold-- much like its person.
I love the sweep of snow across the upper right corner, especially as it crosses the warmer-colored wood.
Right now, I'm working on The Practice of Contemplative Photography and have started reading Eyes of the Heart: Photography as a Christian Contemplative Practice.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm thast is a good theme you have there. love the shot and yes I learnt the lesson of a cold camera, your battery life goes to zero fairly fast.
@valbabe Thank you. I looked up those books on Amazon & they sound interesting. Please let me know what you think after you're finished.
@cookie123 Yes, the battery and the menu just wasn't responding consistently. Oh well, live & learn. I'm not going back out to try again until I get rid of this chill in my bones-- probably next week.
@m9f9l I was wanting exactly that. Thank you so much
You are off to a great start this year, Hope. I love this one. Excellent composition, POV and love how you caught the wind along with the falling snow. You are brave. I'd be taking indoor shots in all that cold weather :-)
