They have ISO100???

Really cool!! I'm eventually gonna have to pull my film camera out again!

@viranod There's two versions... 100 and 100F. 100F is not so good, many don't like it. 100 acts very much like 50, but renders skintones a bit better.

Wait...what...er...what IS THAT? Are those the things people used to shoot photography with before real cameras came along? hahaha

@jasonbarnette oh puhlease, i'm sure this medium format velvia has higher resolution than nearly all digital sensors. and the colors still can't be reproduced to the same saturation and NOT blow out on digital. nice try though!

@hmgphotos I'm buying a new camera body in just over a month, and just for giggles I checked out the Nikon D3X. Did you know that sucker has a resolution of 6048x4032???? WOW.
February 24th, 2011
@jasonbarnette And it costs almost as much as a tiny subcompact car, lol.

@hmgphotos I know :( However, Nikon Rumors has it that Nikon will announce the D800 late this summer, which means the price for the D300, D700, and D3 will drop significantly. Unfortunately, I need another camera body now.
February 24th, 2011
@jasonbarnette D3 will stay up as it's a pro body. It'll be the D700 and D300 to drop in price. Once the D4 is announced is when the D3 bodies will drop. They'll still stay up there, though. I think D2x bodies still go for $1000-2000.
February 24th, 2011
@hmgphotos Very true. No plans for the D4 any time soon since they just came out with the D3X. At $7,000, it is just way too out there for me.
February 24th, 2011
@jasonbarnette D3x has been out for while. It's the D3s that is a bit new. D3x really isn't a photojournalist camera like the normal D3, so they should've just gave it a whole new number. It's too slow for sports. I saw the D4 being mentioned in nikonrumors, so it's probably in the works. D3 is kinda of old when you get to thinking about it, well... "old" in digital terms.

This is what I am shooting in the morning... but 35mm 50iso and cross proc as c41.... so really not at all what you have... but still...

I have been meaning to try it in 120.... i just ordered 3200 ilford... so it will have to be the next order.... sigh so many fun films... so little time!
February 27th, 2011
@icywarm I've been wanting to try some 3200 stuff... but I'm never out in the dark, haha. And I wonder how it would go with a Holga...
February 27th, 2011
@hmgphotos I will let you know... I am using it in my weekender (basically a holga) I figure with the fixed Ap of f/11 and a shutter speed of 1/35 with 3200 speed I should be able to shoot in a 'normal' room at night with all the lights on... but we shall see...

the film is simply rebadged 800 speed... so I am tempted to pull it down 2 stops and see what it looks like too...
February 27th, 2011
@icywarm cool, let me know! maybe i'll pick up a roll or two of it in the future.
February 27th, 2011
@icywarm I finally found someone selling expired film on ebay that isn't doing the "lomo markup" on it... so I got some iso800 color film. Not the same as the 3200, but will be neat to see how it responds in a Holga. Also got two rolls of slide films to play around with, maybe get them cross processed (hate to do that to fresh Velvia... so $2.69 roll of Ecktachrome will do!)
