Is it safe to come out?

It's been cold here, and the plants are reluctant to start growing. But today in the woods I saw a patch of Bloodroot (Sanguinaria) coming up and starting to unfurl. The name comes from a toxic red sap in the roots and stems. I'll check back in a day or so when they are open.
