The scenic route

When we drive to Cumbria we have to decide whether to take the direct route or the scenic route when we leave the motorway. I always vote for the scenic route, ever hopeful that the view might be worth a photo or two. Quite often when we get here we can't see anything except thick cloud but I think it was worth the detour today.
