I was so delighted to see my image of the birds on the top twenty this week, thanks to everyone who fav'd and commented to put it there :)
It was cold and wet today so didn't go out with the camera any further than the garden! Found this little ladybird taking shelter in a plant, I liked the colourful leaves of the acer in the background.
great focus and composition - being fairly clued up about wildlife I'm afraid I suspect that's a harlequin ladybird, which is a damaging invasive species, and want to squish it.
@shannejw You're right but I must admit I'm a bit torn about squishing them! I'm making the garden more wildlife-friendly so haven't used pesticides this year. I wish there was an abundance of native ladybirds munching away at the greenfly then I could get rid of these little invaders, but in the meantime they're doing a pretty good job :)
