Yesterday, I was chatting with my oldest son when we heard a thud against the sliding glass door. We looked up to see 3 or 4 doves fly away. Not sure what they were doing but they were obviously not paying attention because one flew right into the glass. It was surreal to see them all fly away because of the sound of the impact but it was even more amazing to see what has been left behind.
(I taped black poster board on the inside of the door, went outside and held up another to reduce the glare so it would be easier to see.)
@shaunasauna7 - Me, too. I kept checking outside to see if I saw any in distress and didn't see any signs. He hit hard. I felt horrible... I really love my doves. Having grown up rarely seeing them, they have always fascinated me. I find it amazing that I have so many right in my backyard now. That being said, I grew up constantly seeing squirrels, throwing nuts to them, etc. Where I live, there aren't any and I miss them. It's funny to hear my kids make such a big deal when they see one.
great shot and very creative way to take it....too bad about the bird flying into the window...hate when that happens. follow, too since I'm awed by the fact that you are mom to 10! Wonderful!
