This is the final resting place of two members of the Ffrench family. Robert and his daughter Kathleen,
Robert was a diplomat who married a Russian countess. Kathleen their only child inherited a large estate in Russia, but lost it in 1917 during the Russian revolution. She escaped to China where she died in 1938. She was layed to rest beside her father in this building in the grounds of their estate near Galway, The big house which was attached to the castle I posted yesterday, was demolished in the 1950's.
@sitiodown It is open to the public, You can collect the key from a house on the edge of the woods . When you open the door you see a marble statue of Robert who died in 1898, down a spiral staircase you find the two lead lined coffins of father and daughter. you can also climb up on the roof to see the woods spread about you . a bit eerie but it's the story of the fall of a once great family that makes it interesting. Hope i have answered your question.
